ESCUTCHEONS | Efex Appliqués

Escutcheon is an old French word meaning a shield. Today it means a flat piece of metal for protection and often ornamentation.

Escutcheon is often part of a lockset to protect the surrounding area from damage and wear from the end of the key when it misses the keyhole.

Escutcheon is a fancy French word for keyhole cover. When your little covers are fancy, it’s fun to use Escutcheon in Efex Appliqués for them.

Efex Appliqués provide five styles of Escutcheons, from small and demure to big and fancy. We even have one that is Art Deco.

All of our covers have a lovely detail that has been preserved from the original and is handmade for your next project.
